Mercy in Waiting
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23.
Mercy...What keeps you awake at night and troubles your soul during the day? Are you waiting for answered prayer? We can often make ourselves miserable in our waiting? I love Chuck Swindoll's definition; "Mercy is God's ministry to the miserable." There is something incredibly heart-stirring when we learn to be patient in our waiting. In God's infinite grace, He married grace and mercy. Anchor this in your heart! Something is happening while nothing is happening. God is working while we wait!! When all hope seems lost, mercy steps in and answered prayers comes on the heels of mercy. The mercy of God is a precious gift that gives us a glimpse into the heart of God. He is faithful, loyal, steadfast and true. My friends, when you find yourself waiting for God to answer your prayers refuse to dwell in the pit! Look up! The Lord enters the journey to those who wait. Ask God to give you a gift of pressing on when life piles a mountain of weary upon you. Pray your way through the waiting time. Anchor your soul in His Word. You will find that your heart will be at rest. Moses said that God would not only give mercy, but that He would make it available to His people in satisfying measures.
"Oh, satisfy us early with your mercy, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days." Psalm 90:14.
Sweetest Blessings,
Jo
