Living Free from the Fear of Death

What's on My Heart Today

Living Free from the Fear of Death

"But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness." Romans 8:10.

Fear of Death...Who doesn't war with this battle? Death is not an appealing subject to consider. Today, I feel it worthy of pondering. Fear is a terrible motivator and a true slave-master. Our flesh is Satan's territory. We war with our flesh because the enemy of our soul wants to keep us out of Heaven. God has shown me a different view of death. In the Bible, we are taught about the separation of body and Spirit. "There is one body and one Spirit." (Ephesians 4:4a.) Fact is, our body is not who we are. Our life is in our Spirit. Our Spirit will never die unless we reject God. This thought should change the way we look at death. We never die! Our body will die, but we are not our body!"The body that sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable."(1 Corinthians 15:42.) As we age, our Spirit begins reaching out to our Creator. If fear creeps into your thoughts, you are living in the flesh! Choose to separate your thoughts from the flesh. "Take your thoughts captive." We are called to live in the Spirit. God has His hands on us slowly separating us from our fleshly ways until we are focused on Eternity. Learn to see death as it truly is and you will be able to see life as it truly is for all God's children...eternal, free, and full of life!

"God is making  place for us. "Let not your heart be troubled: If you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."
