Leaving a Legacy

What's on My Heart Today

Leaving a Legacy

"And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." 11 Timothy 2:2.

Food for Thought... Have you ever thought about what your life's legacy might look like when you leave this world? Most of us were raised with a mindset to build an inheritance to leave our loved ones. Leaving a legacy involves far more than handing down a monetary inheritance or passing on a good family name. Truth is, the things we valued the most, our home or china, money or memories will not matter. The only things that will matter is our relationship with God and the influence we leave with the gospel. It is our witness that will matter. Today, you will build a small  part of your legacy, one that continues for all of eternity. What will you leave your loved ones? Will it be all the things you have collected and saved for their inheritance or will it be a love for God and His Word? If we can lock this in our hearts we will gather the things of eternal value. Today is a perfect time to ponder what legacy you will be leaving behind for the next generation. What will they learn from you and pass on? Leave a legacy that will shine Jesus light in the hearts of others. Leave a blessing.

"We constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of His calling, and that by His power He may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. We pray this so the Name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you and in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12.
