Moral Wisdom

"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!" Isaiah 5:20

Do you ever feel convicted about the things you see and hear on television or movies? I sure do. I am amazed at how sublimely we have grown to accept sinful, sexual perversion and foul language into our homes and our hearts. Where is our sense of moral outrage? Perhaps our moral sensibilities have been dulled by watching so much immorality everyday? We sit in front of our televisions unable to turn them off, so we turn our minds off to conviction. Over time, so much trash is heaped upon us that we come to expect and accept it. Morally exhausted, we lose our capacity to discern good from evil. Certainly evil is to be expected in a fallen world, what is not expected is for a holy people to accept it. Don't be drawn in by the world's standards. If you are not careful, Satan will wear your defenses down. Be bold and morally pure in keeping high and worthy standards. Sin requires judgment.

You are so right! It makes me sad to see morals I was raised on be almost non-existent. I don't even watch TV because I got tired of seeing all the smut and I don't miss it. It is so important what we feed our eyes and minds cause if we are not careful, we will begin to compromise our core beliefs taking us away from Jesus.

I think it is a huge part of what's wrong with society today. We all need to re-set our moral compasses. If it doesn't honor God it will dishonor us!
