"Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" Matthew 6:27
Here's a thought... Is it a sin to worry? It can be? The Bible tells us to not be anxious about anything. If you worry, what kind of faith do you have? We all fall short in many ways. We all worry. Worry reveals that we haven’t surrendered control to God. Jesus knew the people of that time struggled with worry, just as we do. He prohibited worry in a familiar portion of His Sermon on the Mount, He commanded three times, "Do not worry!" When you find worry taking hold of your heart, know that God already knows your struggles. He knows your heart. He knows that you have a condition that makes it difficult for you to control your thoughts. How can we overcome worry? The Lord gave us the answer in Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.." No worry is too small for God, because every little worry is a distraction from Him. God gives us His grace in the hour we need it. Draw from the infinite riches of His Mercy and Love. When worry begins to flood your soul, praise Him, it is the path that will bring us to His love, His power, His grace.

Thanks for this devotional, cause I deal with worry and anxiety a lot. And I've read the verse in Philippians many times, but something jumped out at me this morning when I read it..it says with thanksgiving, the word thanksgiving speaks out that when I pray against worrying, give thanks and remain in a grateful state. The worry has to leave, because I am focused on giving Jesus thanks for how He will work out my prayer request rather than focusing on the problem.
Oh, I felt the same way as I was writing what was in my spirit. I have felt a lot lately about how we should be giving thanks in all areas of our prayers. How can we ask for more if we don't thank Him for what He has already given us. The same as "To God be all the Glory". Thank you for sharing. <3
