Are We Listening

Are We Listening

Listening: Being alert, observant, and perceptive.

"Moreover, He said to me, "Son of man, take into your heart all My words which I will speak to you and hear with your ears." Ezekiel 3:10.

Thoughts for today...I had a terrible accident last year. When we have these horrific incidents in our life we often pause and give thought to the particular event. This morning I was meandering through this particular memory. The thought immediately appeared in my mind, "why didn't God warn me? I was jolted from my deep thoughts as I immediately heard, "I did warn you, but you weren't listening! That was one of those "wow" moments in my life and should give us all pause for thought! I have walked close to God most all my life and have had many conversations with Him. Both through trials and through victories. I thought I knew His voice well. I wondered had I talked to Him so often that I became less aware? I wonder, when we talk to God do we always listen? We need to ask ourselves "are we talkers or are we listeners?" God talks to us in many different ways. It may not always be audible, it may be in a gentle whisper or grand shout. It could be in the wind or sunrise or sunset. God is God and it's our place to know His voice! "My sheep know My voice." (John 10:27). When we pray do we always wait for an answer? This I know, life comes with victories but it also comes with tragedies. We need to be ready in season and out. God is always talking to us, are we always listening?

"Hear instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it." Proverbs 8:33" "Give ear and hear My voice, listen and hear My words." Isaiah 28:23.

"When we pray, God listens, when we listen, God talks, when we believe, God works!"

Sweetest Blessings,
Jo
