A Life Well-Lived: A sense of meaning and purpose.
"He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8.
Food for Thought...If we were to ask ten people what a life well-lived looked like we would get ten different answers. Few of us have thought long or hard about this question, though all of us should. The answers determines whether we live life well or live life poorly. Sadly, many will choose poorly taking the secular path to happiness and fulfillment. When Jesus talks about living life to the fullest He had something very different in mind. "I came that you may have life and have it more abundantly." (John 10:10). Just what is this abundant life that Jesus talks about? Could it be a life with plenty to eat, good health and few troubles to bother us? Life in lush, green pastures? Time slips by, years fade and life ends. Age is no enemy. Age is a mile marker, a gentle reminder that home has never been so near. Are you anticipating the destination? The older we get the more likely we are to look back on our life and examine it. We can start by asking ourselves if we made the best uses of our time on earth. The art of a life well-lived is in the now, not in the past or worrying about the future. Our goal should not be to live long; it's to live life well-lived. A life well-lived is quite simply a life lived in and with God. The joy we seek is the crown of the good life!
"Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil." Ephesians 5:16.
“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”
