Whatsoever is Lovely

What's on My Heart Today

Whatsoever is Lovely

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:8-9.

Thoughts for today...What do you spend your time thinking about? After all, we are women. Most of us are over-thinkers! I say this with love, most of us are emotionally fickle. We tend to overthink everything, "should I" or shouldn't I? It's a pattern that we have developed over a lifetime. If we want to know where our thoughts are coming from, the first thing to examine is our (fickle) emotions. Our emotions point to what's feeding our thoughts. When we are struggling with distracting  thoughts and emotions, we worry. Worry impacts our thinking. We start with a small worry and dwell on it until it becomes a big point of stress and anxiety in our lives. Are you getting the picture here? It's a vicious circle and a tool of Satan. God wants us to know and understand that we are not victims who must simply endure the miserable ride on the train of our (fickle) thoughts. He wants us to seize the controls that He has given us, switch tracks, and head in a faithful and joyful direction. How? By spending more time thinking on things that are pure, just, and honest. In truth, take control of our thoughts. God has already provided each of us with the authority to take our thoughts captive and to claim victory.  This is the Biblical principle for making decisions, ALL our decision's should honor God. If you never put God into your decision making you will never find peace and harmony. It's that simple. Today and everyday, set your thoughts on things above. Surround your thoughts with everything praiseworthy...

Sweetest Blessings,
Jo
