What's on My Heart Today
Walking in His Promises
"For all the promises of God in Him are yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us." 2 Corinthians 1:20.
"Yes" and "Amen" This is one of the most comforting statements in all of the Bible to me. This scripture has always encouraged me in my faith walk. I learned a very long time ago to take God's Word as absolute! I trust His promises and walk according to His Word. The Christian life rests on a foundation of God's faithful, loving, and all powerful Word. But what happens if God speaks a Word into your life and it hasn't come to pass? How are God's promises "yes" and "amen" even when He tells us "no" in response to our prayers? This challenges us to strengthen our faith in circumstances where our prayers aren't answered as we had hoped? We need to make an important distinction between God keeping His promises and God agreeing to our personal desires. We can count on God keeping every one of His promises, however, we shouldn't expect God to grant all our personal desires. God considers our requests in accordance with what is truly best for us. Have you thought about the fact that God has already said "yes" to His promises in your life? "Amen" means "so be it!" In other words, it's already done! Let's strive to be women who takes God at His Word and believe His "yes" and say a harty "AMEN!"
"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful." Hebrews 10:23.
