Bread of Idleness

"She watches over the affairs of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness." Proverbs 31:27.

Idleness... In this busy world we live in today it is difficult to think that anyone would have spare time to become Idle. We can be busy and be productive, but, we can also be idle and be disruptive. Idle hands make fretful minds! Idle thoughts often find their way into our relationships. We catch a wandering eye. We become critical in nature. We form opinions that should have no place in our thoughts. We become busybodies! Consequently, these thoughts will never yield a harvest of blessing.

"We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive." 2 Thessalonians 3:11."

I truly have a heart to be a Proverb 31 woman but I sometimes struggle with idle thoughts myself. I have to take authority over them daily. Filling my ears with worship and my mouth with praise leaves little time for my thoughts to be idle and wander. If you find yourself being critical of other people, recognize that pattern in your life. You are God's handiwork, created in Christ to do good works. Replace any idleness in your life with a productive lifestyle. One that produces good fruit.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23.

Sweetest Blessings
Jo
