"Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And the rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:18-19
A New Thing... Are you living with a heavy heart of regret? Would you give almost anything to right all your wrongs? Maybe you even long for a fresh start in life? What if I told you that God has a new thing far bigger and greater that He wants to do for you? Our Lord does not bind himself to the expectations of men and He is far more interested in our future than our past. You may think you have made so many mistake that God could never forgive you. You may even believe your not worthy for second chances.
My friend, there is NOTHING you have done so wrong that God can not fix it. No mistake so bad He wouldn't make right. God continues to unconditionally love us in spite of our mistakes. We are an imperfect people loved by a perfect God. What an incredible promise in our scripture today. Here, the prophet asks, "Are you so blinded by your set ways that you cannot see the path God lays right before your eyes?" The Pharisee, was so consumed with his vision of himself that he was unable to perceive the mighty work of God.
Lay this scripture on your heart, "Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth..." What a beautiful promise! It's your promise to claim new life into your journey today. Stop looking in your past, you will never see your blessings if you are looking backwards... "This is the day the Lord has made...rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24
