My Precious Husband

 What's On My Heart Today
My Wilderness Journey "My Precious Husband"

I am taking the liberty in these first few posts to recognize those who helped me walk through this season. Beginning with my precious husband. We are not meant to walk this life alone.

God said; "It is not good that man live alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him." Genesis 2:18.

"My Precious Husband"

I realize not everyone is married, but I wanted to speak to the gift of having a godly husband. There is not enough time or space to describe how lucky I am to have been blessed with a godly husband that loves me with the love (agape) of our Father. I am overwhelmed at the depth of my husbands love for me. During this long and difficult season this man became the strength that I did not have. Husbands are called by God to be loving leaders of their household, mine also became my hero! There is a fundamental value to the Scripture above: Husbands and wife's are not just two people living together. Their lives blend into one another. They become one. This is one of the greatest calling husbands and wives have to unconditionally, irrevocably, love each other.

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her." Ephesians 5:25

One of the most valuable things to come out of my journey is that my husband and I learned the extraordinary blessings of spending daily Bible study and prayer together. Bible reading is one aspect of spiritual intimacy that can have an amazing impact on a couple's sense of togetherness. Together, we unearthed one of the most overlooked secrets for a strong marriage...going into God's presence to pray and experience His love through His Word. Whatever the Bible says, God says! It's amazing how timely God's Word can seem. In His love and mercy, He had a way of lining up our life so that we would read just the right passage at the time we needed understanding. Together, we whole hardily place God at the head of our hearts, or home, and our life.

Thriving couples treasure each other. Their relationship is characterized by honor, admiration and mutual respect. What comes into your mind when you hear the word "cherish"? It means to treasure, to value, to deeply appreciate, to take pleasure in and to esteem. When both husbands and wife's seek God and follow Him by faith, you can be certain the results will be amazing. If you are married and God sits at the head of your hearts and home, then let me encourage you to pause and reflect on your walk with God as a couple. God's Word offers a wealth of wisdom and encouragement. If you are new to Bible study with your husband you might consider setting a regular "date." Consider it "listening to God together." A marriage truly "made in Heaven."
