Retribution or Restoration

Retribution and Restoration

Have you ever been so wounded by another person that you had to choose between "Retribution" or "Restoration?" Actually, retribution and restoration are two key concepts that play equal roles in offense. Retribution focuses on getting even and restoration focuses on how you choose to repay those that offended you. This is where the choice comes in for every Christian.

Jesus lived his life on earth as the Son of Man to demonstrate this mystery. He was faced with the realities of abuse and He showed forgiveness, grounded in restoration not retribution. If you've been deeply hurt and it seems too hard to wrap your heart around it or lay it down, God will dry your tears and replace them with blessings and take the emptiness and turn it into joy.

Take heart my friend, wait for the Lord, for God is about to do a new thing in you."He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." (Psalm 147:3). The Lord, through His mercy and grace, is ready to redeem you. With grace and gentleness, molded by our Lord Jesus Christ...Choose Restoration.

Sweetest Blessings,
Jo
