"But let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God." 1 Peter 3:4
How lovely is a woman with a gentle spirit? Have you ever met a woman and knew immediately that there was something different about her? It may be her gentle spirit that you admired about her. I love our beautiful Scripture today; "But let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God." 1 Peter 3:4.
Jesus is an excellent example of someone who is gentle of heart. Unfortunately, for many of us the opposite has been true. I certainly don't have a calm spirit all the time. As I was thinking about different hindrances that can cause us to stumble in this area, I hear just one word "SIN!" Anything in our lives that would be displeasing to God will hinder our spirits from being gentle.
Ask God to intervene in your life and to teach you how to be a woman of gentle spirit. Make a list of the things that would displease Him and put it in your Bible. Review it often to remind you.Take them to the Lord in prayer each day. One by one watch them fall away. One day you will realize that you too are blessed with a precious gentle spirit. One that is pleasing to God.
