Loving Through God's Eyes

"Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." Colossians 3:13

Today I am reminded of the enormity of forgiveness. Here is the cold hard truth...We have all been egregiously offended and yes, we have all offended someone else just as badly. How easy it is to think we are guilt free. There is absolutely no "Right" in sin. If you have a division between you and another person then you are parked in sin. If you are a Christian and do not forgive, you are standing on shaky ground. "...your Father will not forgive your sins." (Matt. 6:15) The act of forgiving does not come easy for most of us, especially if we have been deeply hurt. Even in His agony, Jesus’ concern was for the forgiveness of those who counted themselves among His enemies. Our natural instinct is to recoil in self-protection when we've been injured. Unlike Jesus, we don't naturally overflow with mercy, grace and understanding when we've been wronged. Since forgiveness goes against our nature, we must forgive by faith, whether we feel like it or not. Trust me, when you forgive others, you will look at people and the world so differently. Not at all that is wrong but all that can be right. The goodness of others instead of their faults. This is seeing the world through God's eyes! Hard things in the hands of God can produce beautiful things.
