"The angel went to Mary and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." Luke 1:28.
Blessed and highly favored...Christmas season is about preparing our hearts to celebrate the story of Jesus birth. Let's look for just a moment to Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Mary's story is miraculous in so many ways. Such a young girl. Such a high calling. Mary had more than likley been taught about the coming Messiah from childhood. God had prepared her heart to receive the divine mission with joy and grace. The angel told Marry that she was 'highly favored'. God did not choose Mary because she was highly favored. She was highly favored because God chose her to carry Jesus the Messiah. Like Mary, before the beginning of time, God set His affection on us! Scripture tells us that all those who believe in Christ are chosen, favored, and blessed. Just like Mary. "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Heavenly realms with every Spiritual blessing in Christ." (Ephesians 1:3). God sent the ultimate Christmas gift not just to Mary, but to us... It was Mary who delivered the package.
"My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior." Luke 1:47.
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realize how blessed you are!
