This World is Not Our Home

This World is Not Our Home

Home...A place where you feel you belong.

"For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the Heavens." 2 Corinthians 5:1 (NKJV).

Home... I always say, "God saved the best for last!" Several years ago, we sold our home and moved to another state. We have been blessed here with a sweet life. A settled life. However, one can't help but notice the world around us is falling apart. I am reminded this world is not my home. I believe the Lord prepares the hearts of His people. He puts eternity in our hearts. So why do we make this earth and all that's in it so valuable? Our earthly home offers temporary and imperfect comfort. We can fall so in love with this world that we forget it is temporary. We are not of this world, our treasure is not of this world, our security is not of this world. When we draw our last breath, what we have accumulated here on earth will go to someone else. The only thing of this world that still holds my heart here are my unsaved loved ones. Family and friends. Are they prepared for what's to come? Ask God to grow deep roots in their hearts. If our loved ones are truly our treasure, we must be prepared to have those difficult conversations. If that seems impossible...Pray! Don't quit praying until the day you go home to be with the Lord. As you pray, ask God to grow deep roots in your children's hearts. Even if you don't see them saved in your lifetime God can still save them. As we get closer to end of the book of Revelation, we can see the finish line. Today, we are living in the last chapter.

"But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for them that love Him." 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV)

Sweetest Blessings,
 Jo
