Christmas Joy

What's On My Heart Today

Christmas Joy

"Being strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy." Colossians 1:11

Joy...Ho! Ho! Ho! Tis the season of joy! After all, "It's the most wonderful time of the year." We are in the middle of my favorite season, one that often seems too busy, but also preciously wonderful. There is no emotion more connected to Christmas than joy. So, why do I feel exhaustion setting in already? The hustle and bustle of this season can leave us completely exhausted. How can we celebrate every day with joy and avoid exhaustion? Find pockets of joy in your journey. Thinking of loved ones? Cherish the time spent with your loved ones rather than focusing on the gifts underneath the tree. Missing friends? Send Christmas cards signed with love. Bake Christmas cookies or take a meal to a neighbor. Bless someone who lost a loved one. The holidays may bring an extra measure of loneliness in this merry season. Take time over the busy holidays to focus on small moments that bring you joy. Maybe it's taking a walk outside in the snow or having a cup of hot cocoa while reading your favorite book by the fire. Most importantly, don't loose the wonder and awe for the true gift of joy at Christmas...The abiding presence of a living Christ. Let's make this holiday purposeful in our hearts. The wonder of Christmas, lasts but a moment, but joy in our Savior will last for eternity. When we feel our energy is waning, we can remember that He called Himself "the life."

"May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

Christmas Blessings,
