Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

What's on My Heart Today

Fearfully andWonderfully Made

"I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well." Psalm 139:14

Thoughts for today...In this well known passage, David expresses his utmost admiration for the way God made us. While my soul absolutely loves this Scripture, as a little girl, my mind and heart had a hard time processing it. I was an abused little girl who grew up afraid to look in the mirror for fear of what I would see looking back at me. I always imagined I was ugly and unlovable. I certainly didn't  consider myself valuable and in no way did I think of myself as wonderful. When I was eight years old I meet my Creator and I learned that I was fearfully and wonderfully made by a loving Father. This was a life changing and radiant joy for my young soul. I have never doubted my worth to this day.

I wonder how many of my sister's realize, in the depth of your soul, that you are very special and deeply loved? God's Word has much to say to women about your importance and worth. "She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her." Proverbs 3:15. Scripture speaks to God's secrets of true beauty  for every woman and the grace that transforms everything around her. Does your soul know how special you? You were handcrafted by a loving Creator, etched from head to toe. There is no one else like you. If you look in the mirror and don't like the way you look, don't ever try to change your looks, change the way you see! You were fearfully and wonderfully made!

Sweetest Blessings,
Jo

Words to lock deep in your heart this week.

Psalm 139:14-18

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

Marvelous are Your works,

And that my soul knows very well.

My frame was not hidden from You,

When I was made in secret,

And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.

And in Your book they all were written,

The days fashioned for me,

When as yet there were none of them.

How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!

How great is the sum of them!

If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;

When I awake, I am still with You.
