"Casting our Cares"
"Cast all your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken" Psalm 55:22.
Casting our Cares...Have you ever noticed how hard it is to wind down your thoughts at the end of the day? When you want nothing more than to quiet your mind long enough to enjoy a good night's rest? As hard as I try to keep stress down in my life, it has a habit of showing up. There's so much bad news these day's that it's hard to ever feel completely settled. Corrie Ten Boom once said, "Any concern too small to be turned into prayer is too small to be made into a burden." Regardless of the extent of our worry and anxiety, worship and worry cannot live in the same heart. It's a bitter root! It's a root that overtakes our hearts and causes trouble in many other areas of our life. When fear or anxiety comes along to steal my faith, I've learned to replace it with God's Presence. There is nothing like the presence of Jesus. Our times of worship together are truly precious. Charles Spurgeon is quoted as saying, "The lower He stoops to save us...the higher we ought to lift Him in our adoring reverence.” Many times, when we are going through times of trials and hardships, we can't see God or feel His presence but my friend...He sees us! The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him. Cast all your cares on Him!
"The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him; though he may stumble, he will not fail for the Lord upholds him with His hand." Psalm 37:23-24.
