"A New Commandment I give you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another." John 13:34.
The Gift of Friendship...This Valentine's Day my thoughts turn towards "Friendships." When we are blessed to be married to the love of our lives, we feel a deep sense of loving someone else. When we have children, we quickly learn about unconditional love. But what about the special people God puts in our lifepath. The sister's and brother's that stand shoulder to shoulder with us through the good times and bad? What kind of love is this? Jesus address friendship when He called us, "friends." He further said, "A friend loves at all times." Good times and bad. He showed us the greatest form of love by dying on the Cross. While we are not asked to die for our friends, the principle remains. There is no greater love between two people than a love grounded in and empowered by Jesus Christ. Two friends, one Savior, hearts aflame. On this special day, delight in your sweet friendships... This is the gift of friendship.
"And above all this put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony." Colossians 3:14.
