What's On My Heart Today
Lost in Love
"And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus of Galilee, ministering to Him." Matthew 27:55.
The Cross...As we approach Easter Sunday let's pause and listen to the voices of the women who lovingly followed Jesus all the way to the cross who were present in His life, death and resurrection. Women whose stories are often told but not always heard. The stories of these women who were the closest to Jesus' reveal what the value of the cross was and what it teaches us today about hope, joy, and love. In the midst of such horror, hatred and cruelty, there is a great deal of beauty. Many of the details are about Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection were recorded because these women had the courage to stay close to the cross and after that, the courage to stay near the tomb, even when it seemed that all was lost. Today, we as followers of Christ, we also have a story to tell. We were saved by love and our place around the Throne of God has been sealed by the Blood of Jesus for all of eternity. Let's quiet our hearts for a moment and ask God to give us a deeper abiding sense of His being with us here in our world, in our heart, on this side of the cross. Let's be the women of the cross today...Lost in Love.
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23.
