Spiritual Mentoring (Titus 2)

"Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled." Titus 2:3-5.

I have been blessed to council many women in my life's journey. But recently, God has began to shine a light on what it means to be a Titus 2 women. Oh, there are others names that you may recognize this woman as; Spiritual mother, daughter, sister or friend. No message could be more relevant, more needed, more rewarding, or more Christ-honoring for Christian women of all ages. We are all women living out the beauty of the gospel together. It is intentional in purpose and beautiful in nature.

I have always had a Spiritual mentor in my life. Someone that I knew that I could trust with Spiritual advice, someone that was grounded in Scripture. A word of caution... It is difficult to be a best friend and a Spiritual mother, sister, daughter or friend. Sadly, familiarity indeed breeds contempt. We need to understand this separation. Be one or the other, but not both. A friendship is someone you share life with, a Spiritual mentor is essentially a teacher who models a Christian life.

I want to be a Titus 2 women that lives by example, that can encourage and embrace the call of pouring my life experiences into women of the next generation. Ask God to give you a heart and a vision to become a Titus 2 women. It will have the sweetest rewards.
