What's on My Heart Today "Righteousness & Holiness"
"Put off your old self, which belongs to your former life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness." Ephesians 4:22-24
Do you believe that being a Christians calls you to look at your behavior? "We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment." (Isiah 64:6.)
The Word tells us that we are to possess both 'Righteousness' and 'Holiness.' What distinguishes righteousness from holiness? Both are used to describe God. Righteousness is defined as an action or behavior that is morally right or just. To be holy means to be set apart or separate from sin and evil. We become righteous through our behavior, and we endeavor to be holy as we grow in our relationship with Christ Jesus. "The humble, believing heart leads to a lifestyle of righteous action acceptable to God " (Psalm 51:10.)
