Temptation

"Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted" Hebrews 2:18

Have you ever been caught off guard by temptation? I certainly have! The worst thing about being hit with temptation is that when you're not prepared for it, it's easy to give in. We're the most vulnerable when our guard is down. We lay our guard down when we are Spiritually depleted. There is no sin in temptation, but it is in temptation that we sin. Jesus knows what it means to be tempted and weak. He spent 40 days and nights in the desert being tempted by the enemy. Guess what He used for a weapon against the enemy? The Word of God! God has provided an escape route for every conceivable temptation you could ever possibly experience. God is faithful to hold back any temptation that is more than you can bear. He knows your strengths and your weaknesses. He knows your exact threshold for temptation. Satan cannot tempt Jesus anymore, but he is still working on us. Start storing God’s word in your heart as the Psalmist writes; "I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119:11. It is not the temptations you have, but the decision you make about them that counts. Walk in victory!
