Everlasting Father

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

Isaiah reminds us of God’s gift of Jesus as our "Everlasting Father" (’Avi‘ad)

Long before Baby Jesus was even born, Isaiah foresaw that this coming king would be an “Everlasting Father.” He who is in the Divine Trinity called the Son, is also called “The everlasting Father.” A title that conveys the king’s willingness to put the needs of his children first. One of the most unique relationships in life is that of a father with his children. Think of the relationship between a father and his children. At his best, a father wants and seeks what is good for his children. It might not always be what they want, but it is for their good. Our Everlasting Father is watching over us and guiding us with His unconditional love. How blessed are we? The very best of all, our Heavenly Father owns eternity, and as His children, we can inherit eternal life. Jesus is one with  God and together they are from everlasting to everlasting. Be assured today that our Everlasting Fathers love for His children will never end. We will always have a home in His heart.
