The Valley of Baca

"Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
    in whose heart are the highways to Zion.
As they go through the Valley of Baca
    they make it a place of springs;
    the early rain also covers it with pools.
They go from strength to strength;
    each one appears before God in Zion." Psalm 84:6-7

Today I want to encourage anyone that is going through a 'Valley of Baca'. (Baca is the Hebrew word for “weeping.” ) Know this, you don't have to remain in the valley, the place of tears. It is important to note that the verse does not say when we come to live in the valley of Baca. No, it specifically says when we are passing through the valley of Baca. The word "through" is encouraging because it denotes a temporary stay. It means you will come to the other side. It means you want to keep moving on in God regardless of where that will take you. What a difference there is! It certainly takes God's strength to help us dig a well in a desert, when our own strength has failed us. If you are passing through a ‘Valley of Baca’ experience I urge you to put your trust in Jesus as your Savior, sure in the knowledge that there is no experience in life which God Himself has not gone through before you. In other words, the blessing of God will rest on you.

"The Lord will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail."
Isaiah 58:11
