Pleasing God

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men." Colossians 3:23

Looking through a child's eyes, how many of us would try to please our parents, hoping they would be proud of us? We clearly placed a big importance in pleasing our parents. And you know what? They were proud as peaches of us for trying. Often looking at us with that loving look that only parents can do. What does it take to please to our Heavenly Father? Does it take perfection? Nope! If it did, none of us would ever be pleasing in the eyes of God. Our Scripture today is referring to supernatural approval and it is beautiful and free! Just like our parents, there is nothing we can do to cause God to love us any more than He already does. And there is nothing we can do to cause Him to love us any less. His love is unconditional. Our Heavenly Father looks at us the same way our earthly parents looked at us, with pride for our good behavior, in fact, His heart swells with pride every time we obey Him and He rewards us with blessings in abundance of immeasurable proportion. God loves you and conditions do not apply. Be supernaturally blessed as you walk in supernatural love.

So true Sissy, our good works, if we can call them that, are not enough to earn God's favor, and that's why His grace is so awesome, because we did nothing to earn it. We just have to accept and receive His grace and then we can please Him with faith and keeping Him first in everything we do.
