Walking By Faith

"For God has not Given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7

Living with Fear... Today's Scripture is very special and meaningful to me. It was the first Scripture God gave me as a small and frightened child. It packs a powerful truth, but sadly, one that has not always been easy for me to walk in. There seems no limit to situations that arise up and tempt us to loose our faith.

Over the years, I have come to visit my fears all too often and allowed the enemy of my soul draw me onto this battlefield. The enemy can and will use our own weaknesses to his advantage. Circumstances beyond our control arise and break down our deepest set faith. The fear of death, of loosing a loved one, our children's safety, finances, broken marriage are just a few for the enemy to choose from.

This has been a hard fought journey for me and one well learned. Today, I want to share a few Golden Nuggets of truth concerning fear and it's power over our lives.

God's word is absolute "TRUTH!" Read and hide 2 Timothy 1:7 in your heart. It is a powerful WEAPON to help you stand without fear. Understand that the spirit of fear is not something that came from our Maker. It is a "LIE" and a tool the enemy uses to put a roadblock in your path that you will find yourself tethered to.

Having this amount of truth hidden in your heart is enough to give you a sound mind. God is miraculously using His Word to calm your fears. Conquering your fear is not a matter of determining not to be afraid, but of completely being dependent on our Abba Father in whom we completely trust.

What is it that you fear? God will never place you on a battle He hasn't equipped you for. If you hide His Word in your heart, and you believe it, you already hold the power. Every time that old familiar fear arises up to meet you, bring it before the Throne and ask Abba Father to give you healing strength. God will give His angels charge over you.

Today, God is saying to you... "Therefore, I remind you to stir-up the gift of God... For the Lord has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me. That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in you, the Holy Spirit is love. This perfect love of God casts out ALL fear because, "There is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus." (Romans 8:1.)

Arm yourself with the Truth and the Truth will set you free! In spite of yourself... God created you to soar!

Sweetest Blessings,
Jo
