In My Weakness

What's On My Heart Today

In My Weakness

"Three Times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:8-9.

In my Weakness...I realized something very insightful this week to share with you. When I am weak, God is strong! You say you always knew this? Really? Well, so did, or is it?

I most often wake up to a lovely and cheerful morning. The birds are singing and joy instantly floods my heart. I'm soon in the Word and Worship music and my world is rosy, all is well!

Enter something to shatter my well-being. Reality check! Life is full of challenges. We suddenly remember the doctors report or there's a the disturbing call from a loved one or any other darkness that knocks on our heart that comes to overshadow our joy. In one swift moment, we are reminded how weak we are.

Disappointment hovers. This feeling of being inadequate to handle pressures comes our way and settles in. Why? What I discovered (insight) is that our weakness lies within our own fears. The irrational fear that creeps into our thoughts when we least expect it. I never realized how much God could do for me until my strength was taken away from me.

"God's Power is made perfect in our weakness. When we are weak, He is strong!"

Here's the good news...We were never created to be self-sufficient. God transforms us as we allow Him to meet us at our place of weakness. When is the Devil being beaten? Not when we feel great and confident, when it looks like wonderful things are happening. No, the Devil is being defeated when are feeling attacked. When we feel weak and helpless, when in our weakness we come to the Lord and plead with Him for strength to go on and for grace to help us stand.

Paul was a mighty man of prayer, so it was natural for him to make a plea three times. The answer comes, and it's very clear. "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." May you enter into a season of peace founded on the limitless grace and power of your Heavenly Father.

"He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength." Isaiah 40:29.
