Great Faith

"Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vine, though the olive crops fail, and the fields produce no food. Though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet, I will rejoice in the Lord, I will rejoice in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to tread on heights. Habakkuk 3:17-19.

Disappointments are inevitable! Discouragement is a choice! There are times that we all will struggle with our faith. We either trust what our circumstances show us, or our faith that we can not see. Sight focuses on despair and faith focuses on hope. Charles Spurgeon defined faith as "The foot of the soul by which it can march along the roads of commandments." He goes on to say "If you love darkness, and are satisfied to dwell in gloom and misery, then be content with little faith, but of you love the sunshine, and would sing songs of rejoicing, covet earnestly this best gift, "Great Faith."

Habakkuk's message to us today is that we can have total confidence in God's wisdom when we struggle to reach for our unseen faith. "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1.

Sweetest Blessings,
Jo
