Morality and Our Youth

What's On My Heart Today "Morality and Our Youth"

"As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior, because it is written, "YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY." 1 Peter 1:14-16

I'm blessed to know many wonderful parents that love and guide their children into adulthood with good and decent morals, however, it is alarming for me to see the promiscuous dress of so many of the young women today. Dress has become "less is more." This type of dress leads to all kinds of trouble. Even worse, is the total lack of concern by parents. Morality requires some sense of distinction between right and wrong behavior. Sure, you can say that I am just old fashioned and times have changed, but listen carefully when I tell you that "God never changes" and His commands for right and wrong do not change. The Bible is very clear that God doesn't kind of dislike sin. God is not just irritated by sin! God hates sin! Your children should understand this. Parents, if you truly love your children help them to understand the penalty for sin and teach them to desire the rewards of Heaven. Eternity could stand in the balance!
