Golden Nuggets in My Wilderness Journey

  What's On My Heart Today
"Golden Nuggets in My Wilderness Journey"

Welcome back dear ones. I sure missed our daily chats this summer. While I was away, I was busy setting my life in order. A reset of sorts. I also had back surgery. In my recovery, I was able to spend a lot of time in the sweet presence of my Lord, a place where I was blessed with a much deeper understanding of spiritual growth. This was the end of a very long and somewhat difficult season for me and as I spent quiet time in reflection, I realized that while it may have been painful at times, it was also abundantly blessed in much richness. I felt it worthy to share.

I titled this series of 10 day posts "My Wilderness Journey." The subjects of each of these post reflects Biblical wisdom that I was able to glean along the way and a look at the heart of our God who leads His children through both the desert and the promise land. It is my humble desire that you come back daily and glean encouragement for the next time you may find yourself in a wilderness journey. I pray that you may find nuggets of grace and pockets of blessings along the way. To God be all the Glory!!

"Golden Nuggets In My Wilderness Journey"

"How amazing are the deeds of the Lord! All who delight in Him should ponder them. Everything He does reveals His glory and majesty. His righteousness never fails. He causes us to remember His wonderful works. How gracious and merciful is our Lord." Psalm 111:2-4

Do you ever wonder if anything good can come out of wilderness journey? YES! YES! YES! What is a "Wilderness Journey?" It is what we sometimes call a "dry season." Often challenging, full of wisdom, and incredibly beautiful. My story could have been written by many of you as life does not always come pain free. We travel down the same winding roads filled with potholes and detours, often experiencing pangs of defeat. But, my friend, it is in these dry seasons that God wants to woo us to His heart. "When life is not a bed of roses, remember who wore the thorns."

One of my favorite books in the Bible is Habakkuk. This beautiful little (3 chapter) book of the Old Testament was a tremendous influence to me through my wilderness journey. Habakkuk begins with a word that serves as a header for his message; "burden" translated, "heavy load." Like Habakkuk, we may find ourselves asking God; "Why Lord?" Through this scripture, I learned about the nature of God. God is holy. God is faithful. God's wisdom is far above ours. My story is about triumph of faith over adversity. Praise God, faith does not listen to despair! Habakkuk did not always understand the ways of the Lord, but he trusted His character in the midst of the crisis.

Are there golden nuggets to be found in a wilderness journey...ABSOLUTLY!

"The Lord God is my strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds feet and will make me to walk, not stand still in terror, but to walk and make spiritual progress upon my high places of trouble, suffering, or responsibility." Habakkuk 3:19

Sweet Blessings,
Jo
