What's On My Heart Today... Finding Faith

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” 2 Timothy 1:7

"Fear." The very thing that we fear the most, many of us call into action everyday. A U.S. President one said; “There is nothing to fear but fear itself." We fear because we can't quite hold onto the faith to believe. Why is it that we ask for God's help to cope with our fears but we don't listen to what He is saying? Isaiah 41:10 encourages us;

“Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God I will strengthen you..."

This is a promise from God, not a suggestion. God tells us not to be afraid of being alone, of weakness, of illness, of poverty, for us or for our loved ones. God speaks throughout the Bible, covering the many different aspects of the “spirit of fear.” If you suffer with a spirit of fear, this is where your journey begins, finding faith. Ask God to help you put your faith into action today, then grab ahold of it and hang on tight. 

"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18
