Love Came Down

“Unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord” Luke 2:12

Christmas...This is the day that we remember the birth of Jesus, Son of God, Savior of the world. "God manifest in the flesh." Christ, is His title, Jesus is His name, but it says in Matthew 1:23, "He shall be called Emmanuel, "God with us.” Long before Jesus birth, Isaiah prophesied the child that would be born would be called, "Wonderful, Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting father, the prince of peace." (Isaiah 9:6) A monumental calling for a tiny baby. This perfect and precious child that was conceived by the Holy Spirit was sent to earth to save His people from their sins. He took upon Himself our humanity. He was born in the shadow of the cross to redeem us from our sin. What if Jesus had never been born, would it have made a difference? Everything! You would have no atonement for your sin, no resurrection from the dead, no hope of eternal life, and no Savior to call a friend. Love came down for you and me, have you received this Gift of Love?

Wishing you a Blessed Christmas in Christ Jesus love,

*Note of Interest: Jesus had to be born in Bethlehem because it was the birthplace of King David; in the census it was considered the hometown of all his descendants. "... because he was of the house and lineage of David." (Luke 2:4) This was done so that the Old Testament prophesies would be fulfilled. "But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days. (Micah 5:2)
