Why Church

"And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together..." Hebrews 10:24-25

I know many wonderful Christians that for whatever reason prefer not to attend church. Oh, they believe in God, pray, and live a Christian life. After all that's what being a Christian is all about. Right? Is it possible to not attend church and still be a good Christian? Many people would say yes to that question, and perhaps you would agree. After all, we can read the Word at home, worship with music on ITunes, and get sermons online. So, why do we need church? Maybe the important thing is not how you relate to church, but how you relate to God. Truth is, Jesus both started and loves the church. In fact, He died for it. The Bible calls the church the "Body of Christ," the people, the "Bride of Christ." We are not all called to go to the same church, but we are all called to be a part of a church. You need a place to be accountable. You need a place to serve God with the gifts He has given you. God has gifted each member of his church to serve one another, you can’t do that solo. If you love God, you will love His people and long to be with them. Truth is we all need God, the church and the people to make a body of Christ.
