Seeing Past the Storm

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly" John 10:10 ESV

One would think that being a Christian would reward us with a perfect life. A life free of being riddled with stress. When in fact, that is far from the truth. Every believer struggles at different times with spiritual attacks even though we don’t always recognize it as from the enemy. Today, one of the most devastating areas the enemy is attacking God's children is through "Anxiety!" You know, that gut-wrenching, heart pounding, earth shattering, whirlwind of emotions that take over your thoughts and leave you so helpless. Psalm 56:3 says, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Notice: it does not say, “I never struggle with fear.” Fear strikes, and the battle begins. So the Bible does not assume that true believers will have no anxieties. Instead the Bible tells us how to fight when they strike. Christ’s love compels us to get up, and keep on living. If you are dealing with anxiety, recognize the signs of a spiritual attack. When they come remember what Paul writes in Ephesians.6:10, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” Victory belongs to the strong. The next time you feel anxiety... draw from the infinite riches of His Mercy and Love.

"But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
