What's On My Heart Today "The Heart of David"
"After removing Saul, he made David their king. He testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do." Acts 13:22
What was so special about this King, warrior, musician, lyricist, called David that God loved so much? David, son of Jesse was an amazing man of God. But on occasion, he really messed up. In fact, he was downright bad. But God wasn't looking at David's actions when He called David "a man after my own heart." That has a lot to say about God's loving kindness. You see, God wasn't looking for a perfect person in David. He was looking for a man after His own heart. What characteristics did David posses to qualify for such a exalted position? David possessed humbleness, reverence, respect, trust, love, devoted, faithful, obedient, and repentant. These are the attributes that we should all inspire to posses. Oh! That God would look at our hearts and see a man or women "after his own heart!"
