"For he will not often consider the years of his life, because God keeps him occupied with the gladness of his heart." Ecclesiastes 5:20
My hubby and I were standing at our kitchen window one morning watching the birds, who seem to have much to be happy about, and we were reminded how beautiful and blessed our journey has been. Have we experienced hardships? Sure we have, many of them. But they do not define us. They made us who we are. Every disappointment and heartache, made us stronger. Every success gave us deeper joy. We keep all our sweetest memories close to our heart, but it is our Lord that we keep the center of our home, our life, and our hearts.
"The Lord is (our) shepherd; (we) shall not want. He makes (us) lie down in green pastures. He leads (us) beside still waters. He restores (our) soul. He leads (us) in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though (we) walk through the valley of the shadow of death, (we) will fear no evil, for you are with (us); your rod and your staff, they comfort (us). You prepare a table before (us) in the presence of (or) enemies; you anoint (our) head with oil; (our) cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow (us) all the days of (our) life, and (we) shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Psalm 23:1-6
Without the Lord's love, mercy and grace life would be meaningless. Enjoyment comes by knowing the living God and taking everything from His hand with thanksgiving. Through the good and the bad, the ups and the downs, God has truly kept us occupied with gladness of heart!
Sweetest Blessings,
Jo
